Israel prolongará su operación en hospital de Gaza hasta capturar al "último terrorista"
Un alto mando israelí declaró que sus tropas proseguirán la operación militar en el hospital Al Shifa, el más importante de la Franja de Gaza, hasta capturar al "último terrorista".
"Sólo pondremos fin a esta operación cuando el último terrorista esté en nuestras manos, vivo o muerto", afirmó el general de división Yaron Finkelman, jefe del Comando Sur, en declaraciones difundidas el sábado.
Las fuerzas israelíes lanzaron el lunes una operación en el hospital Al Shifa y sus alrededores, en el norte de la Franja, alegando que altos mandos operativos del movimiento islamista Hamás tienen su base en ese extenso complejo.
Tras varios días de combates, el ejército israelí reportó que unos 170 combatientes palestinos murieron y cientos fueron detenidos o interrogados.
"Seguimos adelante con esta operación", aseguró Finkelman, que el viernes visitó el lugar.
El ejército dijo que los enfermos y heridos del hospital, situado en la ciudad de Gaza, fueron trasladados a un "recinto designado" del centro.
Imágenes de vídeo difundidas por las fuerzas israelíes muestran a soldados descargando suministros en el complejo y acondicionando lo que parece ser una sala de hospital con una hilera de camas y soportes para suero.
Unas dos toneladas de alimentos y tres toneladas de agua, además de equipos médicos, fueron llevados al lugar, según el ejército.
